5 March 2015 Tirumala: On Thursday the annual float festival of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala ended on a colorful note under the bright light of the moon.
The five day’s annual float festival is one of the most important festival that is being celebrated every year in Tirumala, Teppotsavams are unique in nature since the processional god and goddess will be taken for a pleasure ride on the water of Swamy Pushkarini which is very near to the main Temple for five days by providing a holy feast to the tens of thousands of devotees who participate the event.
On the first day the Lord will appear as Sri Rama accompanied by Goddess Sita Devi, Laxmana and Hanuman will took a holy ride on the holy water in flotilla. On the second day the Lord will appear as Lord Sri Krishna accompanied by Goddess Rukmini Devi. For the last three days Lord Srinivasa accompanied by his two partner Sridevi and Bhudevi will took pleasure rides on the sacred water of Swamy Pushkarini.
For the first three days, the deities will take 3 rounds on “Teppa”(boat) by blessing the devotees.
On the fourth day the deities will take 5 rounds on “Teppa”(boat) by blessing the devotees.
On final day of the annual float festival, Lord Malayappa appeares much more special in the full moon light and enchanted the pilgrims who converged in pushkarini to have a glimpse of the mightiness of Lord srinivasa on the finely decorated flotilla.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has cancelled Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva owing to this festival and also cancelled monthly Pournami Garuda Seva on Sunday following the Theppotsavams.
TTD Executive Officer Dr D.Sambasiva Rao, DyEO Mr.Chinngamagari Ramana, SE Mr.Ramesh Reddy, Peishkar Mr.Selvam, and other TTD’s top officials and large number of devotees participated in this religious fete.
