16 February 2015 Tirupati: On Monday evening Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple processional deity of Lord Sri Soma Skanda Murthy in tirupati took a present ride on the finely decorated “Tiruchi” as a part of the ongoing brahmotsavams of the temple.
Puranas says that Lord Sri Vishnu is considered as “Bhoga Murthy” means Lord of Propserity and Lord Shiva as “Gnana Murthy” means Lord of Wisdom. Tiruchi is also known as “Pallaki Utsavam” or “Pallyankika Utsavam” is a traditional and ancient religious ceremony usually observed since ages in India by rulers. Since Lord Shiva is considered to be the Gnana Murthy, is taken on a celestial ride on the Palanquin on Monday evening to shower blessings to His devotees in the form of wisdom and pure knowledge.
