Kartiki Chhath Puja, an ancient festival dedicated to the Sun God, is a popular Hindu festival celebrated in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. It is celebrated on Shukla Shashthi in Kartik month and hence the name Kartiki Chhath. As per Gregorian English Calendar this festival falls in the month of October- November. Being the beginning of winter season, the days of Kartik month are very pleasant and hence the festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy.
