The Lower Manair Dam built on the tributary, Manair is yet another place that has positioned itself in the tourism map of Telangana. The construction of the Dam had started in 1974 and continued till 1985. It can be regarded as the first tourist spot that welcomes the tourists to the district while coming from Hyderabad. This 27 mtrs high dam is considered as the water gateway of Karimnagar. The catchment area of the river is around 6,475 sq km.

It is quite a sight to watch when water gushes out of the 20 floodgates of the dam into the neighboring water bodies. People come here from the neighboring areas to see this sight when takes place mostly during the monsoons. The water level during this time reaches the optimum level. The area is also at its best during the sunset. The reddish orange texture of the water caused by the last rays of the setting sun mesmerizes the viewers. People from the other parts of the district also visit the dam during this time to see the sight that is both spiritual and magical.

Tourists also have the advantages of enjoying the boating facilities provided by the dam administration. Speed boating is a good time pass in case you have come early to watch the spectrum caused by the setting sun. The dam also provides enough opportunity for the family picnics and weekend get together. It provides a nice view of the entire district from the top. There are other places close by that add to the picnics and outings. The Deer Park and the Ujwala Park also attract visitors. The Rajiv Gandhi Deer Park also houses many birds of rare variety. People who visit the Lower Manair Dam also visit the Deer park and the Ujwala Park.
