Rahu Graha Characteristics, Importance, Significance

According to Vedic Astrology, North Node of Moon is RAHU and South Node is KETU. Both RAHU and KETU are also called dark or shadow planets. These Nodes are connected with occurrence of eclipses. Also, Rahu took a share of Amrita for himself. Both the Sun and the Moon noticed Rahu having Amrita so they showed the achiever. The alarm angered Lord Vishnu who flung his discus [Soodarshana Chakra] at Rahu. Lord Vishnu’s discus separated Rahu’s head from the rest of the body. Interestingly, Amrita kept Rahu’s head immortal but not the remaining parts of his body.
