On Tuesday evening the second last day of annual Brahmotsavams of Srinivasa Mangapuram, the Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy took holy ride on the sacred Aswa vahanam.
Legends says, Hayagriva is also considered as an avatar of Sri Vishnu Baghavan. Hayagriva is worshipped as the God of knowledge and wisdom. He has human body and a horse’s head, milky white in color, with white garments and seated on a white lotus. symbolize, the story represents the triumph of pure knowledge, guided by the hand of God, over the demonic forces of passion and darkness.
Horse is a symbol for energy, knowledge and velocity. The last Avatar of Lord Sri Vishnu is Kalki Avatar, where the warrior prince rides on divine white horse to guard the world from dangerous components. The Lord on Aswa VAHANAM is due to this fact rightly described as “Defender of religion”, the “Terrible executioner” who protects the universe from evil forces.
