A small shrine of Jala Durga is situated in water which is believed to be flowing from Papanashini near Thirunelli. The water never dries up and legends say that the shrine was installed by Lord Parasurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Swayamboo pratistha. In the Sreekovil, Satidevi is also there. No vigraham there, only om peedam is there. Darshan is towards west. Other deities are Kannimoola Ganapathy, Parasuraman and etc. Before doing the Balidarpana at papanasini, we have to do darshan in this temple (which is not possible as it is forest and wild animals are there).
