In ancient times, this temple had 54,000 rice fields. The soldiers of Chempakassery Raja killed an Unni from the Changazhimuttom family of Kuttanadu who had measured the “Patta Nelu” of Devaswom in the Venattukara field. He is installed as Bhramma Rakshas in this temple. To satisfy the Bhrahmma Rakshas, he made “Kazhumaram” in front of the Rakshas Shrine and hung the Prathiroopam at the Chempakassery Raid. But later, these forms were eliminated. Raja handed Pantheeradi’s pooja objects to the temple as a sign of repentance for the murder of Unni. Raja has appointed Thiruvenkitapuram Warriam members as heirs to the “Pantheeradi Choru”.

The idol of the centuries-old vazhappally temple is considered the temple of Siva of Neelamperoor. The legend behind this concept is that CheraRajaPallibana Perummal, follower of Budha, defeated by the “Hindu Bhattas” after a defeat in the argument, came to Neelamperoor. The news reached the ears of the Pathillams potilla (Chengazhimuttam, Kainikkara, Eravimangalam, Kunnithidasserry, Athrasserry, Kolencherry, Kizhangazhuthu, Kannancherry, Thalavana, etc.) who will install his personal idol at Neelamperour. Pathillathil Pottimars works with Neelamperoor’s idol Shiva and has set up this idol in Vazhappally.
