About Vishwakarma Puja:
Vishwakarma Puja or Vishwakarma Jayanti or Vishwakarma Day is a celebration for a Hindu god Vishwakarma. He is an architect, and he is one among the 14 valuable things born on the Samudra manthan. The ancient Holy city Dwarka was construed by Vishwakarma, Dwarka was ruled by Lord Krishna. the Maya Sabha of the Pandavas was also constructed by him. He created many extraordinary weapons for the gods. In Rig Veda he is mentioned as a divine carpenter, and is credited with Sthapatya Veda, the science of mechanics and architecture.
Vishwakarma Puja will celebrated on 17 September every year and is celebrated in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orrisa, and Tripura. This festival is mainly celebrated by engineers, architectural community, artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers, factory workers and others.
Special statues and pictures of Vishwakarma are installed in all workplaces and factory’s. All workers gather at one common place to perform the puja.
Vishwakarma puja is also celebrated a day after Diwali, along with Govardhan Puja in the month of October-November.
