Once upon a time, a devotee who used to reside in a small village adjacent to the banks of Patalaganga wished to carve giant rock into a sculpture of Nandeeswara and establish it in front of Mallikarjuna Swamy in Srisailam. Once he completed the huge sculpture, he was unsure how he could transport the sculpture to its rightful destination. Nandeeswara appears in the man’s dream and hands him a rope collar.
