Nanjangud Temple or Srikanteshwara or Nanjundeswara Temple is a famous God Shiva Temple located on the banks of the Kapila River(a tributary of the Kaveri River) in Nanjangud, Mysore, Karnataka State. This temple is also popularly known as Dakshina Kashi or Varanasi of the South.

Nanjangud Temple Meaning:

“Nanju” translates to “to poison” in Kannada. Therefore, the name “Nanjundeshwara” signifies the deity who bravely consumed the poison.

Nanjundeswara Temple Donations:

Devotees can send their donations through Money Order, A/C Payee, D.D., or Cheque on behalf of the Executive Officer, Sri Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple, Nanjangud. Or they can go to the administrative office to pay and receive receipts.

Devotees wishing to donate sarees to the goddess Parvati must send them at least one month in advance by post or mail or go personally to the temple administrative office and set the desired date to perform this service. They must pay 30 rupees / – for this and get a receipt.

          Surya Grahan is not visible in India, so all temples will be open on December 4, 2021.
          The Solar Eclipse will start on December 4 at 10:59 am and will continue till 03:07 in the afternoon.

          The temple will be open on 6th dec.

    I would like to know whether the temple is open for all the week days for devotees to have darshan and required to know the timings for darshan.

      The temple is open only for Dharshan of the Lord. Sevas are stopped till August 31 2021 and there after depending on the Govt orders the temple resumes as before normally with all sevas.
      Temple timings are 06.00 Am to 01.30 pm and 03.30 pm to 08.00 pm.
