Pathala Vinayaka Temple is located at the northern entrance of Sri Kalahastheeswara Temple in Srikalahasti at about 35 feet below the ground.
There is a popular legend which narrates about the manifestation Lord Vinayaka deep in the Suvarnamukhi River. It is said that Sage Agasthya did not worship Lord Vinayaka when he went to Dakshin Kailash and because of that the Suvarnamukhi River dried up. Sage Agasthya realized his mistake and worshipped Lord Vinayaka and sought his blessings. Since the Lord Vinayaka’s image appeared at the bottom of the river, it became known as Pathala Vinayaka. The shrine is located close to the northern Gopuram of Sri Kalahastheeswara Temple and one has to descend a plight of 20 steps to reach there.

Rahu Ketu Pooja Price Details:
Rs. 300/- These Pooja are done outside the temple. It permits only one person to sit and do the Pooja. After the Pooja one is taken for darshan.
Rs. 750/- These are done inside the temple premises. A couple can sit together and one can do the Pooja. If unmarried, then only the person can sit and do the Pooja. However, just one more person is permitted to sit behind. Two are permitted for Darshan after the Pooja.
Rs. 1500/- This is same as for Rs.750/- but performed inside the main hall. Also, an additional shawl is given with prasad. In this 4 persons can have darshan after the Pooja.
The Pooja is performed for about 30 to 45 minutes.
