Surya Dev is one of the Hindu deities and he is the Sun. Surya Dev is considered the life giver and one who nourishes. Shri Surya Mandala ashtakam is from Aditya Hrudaya. Sri Surya Mandala Ashtakam is hyme in praise of God Surya. It is said in the Stotra that Surya mandal vanishes poverty and sorrow. Surya Dev is the only Navgrah that is easily visible to the naked eye. Many scriptures uphold his importance as the chief among these nine planets. All life generates from the heat and light of the Sun. Without Surya, the entire universe would be covered in deep darkness and creation itself wouldn’t have any meaning. According to Vedic texts, Suryadev is the God of light and wisdom. He is also considered to be a form of Vishnu and Shiva by Vaishnavites and Shaivites respectively. He is also one of the eight forms of Astamurti Shiva. Disease, weakness and negativity are cured by the divine light and heat of the Sun, which is always available to us. As a matter of fact, even civilizations before the Vedic age and in other parts of the world recognize the Sun’s importance and offered ritualistic worship to it. Lord Rama, the 7th Avatar of Sri Vishnu, was a descendant of Surya dev and thus a king of the solar dynasty.

சூர்ய மண்டல ஸ்தோத்ரம்
நமோ ऽஸ்து ஸூர்யாய ஸஹஸ்ரரஶ்மயே ஸஹஸ்ரஶாகாந்விதஸம்பவாத்மநே ।
ஸஹஸ்ரயோகோத்பவபாவபாகிநே
ஸஹஸ்ரஸங்க்யாயுகதாரிணே நம: ॥
யத்மண்டலம் தீதிகரம் விஶாலம் ரத்நப்ரபம் தீவ்ரமநாதிரூபம் ।
தாரித்ர்யது:கக்ஷயகாரணம் ச புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 1 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் தேவகணை: ஸுபூஜிதம் விப்ரை: ஸ்துதம்பாவநமுக்திகோவிதம் ।
தம் தேவதேவம் ப்ரணமாமி ஸூர்யம் புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 2 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் ஜ்ஞாநகநம் த்வகம்யம் த்ரைலோக்யபூஜ்யம் த்ரிகுணாத்மரூபம் ।

யந்மண்டலம் கூடமதிப்ரபோதம் தர்மஸ்ய வ்ருʼத்திம் குருதே ஜநாநாம் ।
யத்ஸர்வபாபக்ஷயகாரணம் ச புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 4 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் வ்யாதி விநாஶதக்ஷம் யத்ருʼக்யஜு: ஸாமஸு ஸம்ப்ரகீதம் ।
ப்ரகாஶிதம் யேந ச பூர்புவ:ஸ்வ: புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுவரேண்யம் ॥ 5 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் வேதவிதோ வதந்தி காயந்தி யச்சாரண ஸித்தஸங்கா: ।
யத்யோகிநோ யோகஜுஷாம் ச ஸங்கா: புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 6 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் ஸர்வஜநேஶ்ச பூஜிதம் ஜ்யோதிஶ்ச குர்யாதிஹ மர்த்யலோகே ।
யத்கால காலாதிமநாதி ரூபம் புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 7 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் விஷ்ணுசதுர்முகாக்யம் யதக்ஷரம் பாபஹாரம் ஜநாநாம் ।
யத்கால கல்பக்ஷயகாரணம் ச புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 8 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் விஶ்வஸ்ருʼஜாம் ப்ரஸித்தமுத்பத்திரக்ஷாம்ப்ரலயப்ரகல்பம் ।
யஸ்மிஞ்ஜகத்ஸம்ஹரதே ऽகிலம் ச புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 9 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் ஸர்வகதஸ்ய விஷ்ணோராத்மா பரம் தாம விஶுத்ததத்த்வம் ।
ஸூக்ஷ்மாந்தரைர்யோகபதாநுகம்யம் புநாது மாம் தத்ஸவிதுர்வரேண்யம் ॥ 10 ॥
யந்மண்டலம் ப்ரஹ்மவிதோ வதந்தி காயந்தி யச்சாரணஸித்தஸங்கா: ।
