Tulsipur Devi Patan Temple Timings: 6.00 am to 8.00 pm
Located at 70 km from Gonda, and 2 km. from Tulsipur, in Uttar Pradesh is the famous Devi Patan temple, which is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths equally admired by the Hindus in India and Nepal. As per legend, when Lord Shiva was carrying the corpse of his wife Sati, her right shoulder fell on this place.
Guru Gorakshnath of the Nath Sampradaya established Devi Patan Siddha Peeth. The present temple is said to be constructed by King Vikramaditya and in the 11th century King Suheldeo of Sravasti renovated the temple. Today the Royal family of Balrampur is the caretaker of the temple. During Navratri a large fair takes place and on Chaitra Panchami the deity of Pir Ratan Nath from Dang in Nepal is brought to Devi Patan temple and worshipped along with the Devi.
