For Individuals & Families:
Individuals and families are not required to book their visit in advance. Upon arrival, ask for information at the reception regarding the availability of a guide. If there is none, the audio guide should always be available for your visit.

For group visits, prior reservation is required to make your visit more organized and satisfying. All details can be found on the group visit page.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Audio Tour Guide:
Audio guides will be available from January and February 2015. With these, you can take a guided tour of the Mandir. Using the simple audio system, you can listen to detailed information about the different features of the Mandir. At your own pace, discover the importance of a Hindu mandir, the fascinating story of the construction of the Mandir, the Hindu feelings for each of the sacred images, the importance of Hindu rituals such as arti, the meaning of certain architectural drawings, And much more.
Please ask the audio guide at the information desk. A deposit will be required when you pick it up, which will be refunded when the unit is returned. Due to limited supply, please note that the audio tour guide is not available for school groups.

Volunteer guides may be available during the day for individuals and families or small groups of 8 or less. Please ask the information desk on arrival if a guide is available.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir ARTI CEREMONY:
One of the highlights of a visit to the Mandir is to attend the midday arti ceremony which takes place every day at 11.30am. It is an old Hindu offering made by stirring lighted wicks in front of the sacred images with the accompaniment of a musical prayer. Many visitors described the experience as impressive.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir SHRI GHANSHYAM MAHARAJ ABHISHEK CEREMONY:
The artistically hypnotic Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj Abhishek Mandapam is located near the entrance of the mandir. Here, visitors can perform abhishek of Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj. An abhishek is a special Hindu ritual. When united with deep faith and devotion, it is a sincere appeal to divine grace. Made by pouring water gently on the murti, it is an offering, it is an expression of reverence and a prayer for spiritual progress, peace and fulfillment of desires.

The Souvenir Shop is located in the Activity Center wing of the complex. It is filled with a wide selection of books, postcards, CDs, DVDs, herbal health products and gifts for all ages, tastes, and budgets.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir SHAYONA SWEETS AND SNACK CENTER:
Why not complete your visit with a meal at the Shayona food center? With its all-vegetarian cuisine, Shayona is the perfect way to experience some traditional and authentic tastes of India. You can select from various menu options for sit-down or to-go, including a wide selection of sweets and snacks.

NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Dress Code:
Keep in mind that a strict dress code works in the complex. Specifically, the tops should cover the shoulders, back, chest, navel and arms. The use of the legs should be at least up to the knee. Visitors who do not have the appropriate dress code would be requested to wear wraps provided in the Mandir.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Shoes:
Please remove all shoes before entering any of Mandir’s buildings. Shoe racks are provided in the complex.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Photography & Videography:
Photography and videography are strictly forbidden in all buildings. Videos and photos, for personal use only, may be taken from ground level outside Mandir and Haveli only. Commercial use or publication of images of the site is strictly prohibited. Tripods are not allowed on campus. Please, check the reception for more information.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Food & Drink:
No food or drink is allowed in the Mandir facilities. Please throw the chewing gum in the garbage before entering.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Mobile Phones:
Please turn on all mobile phones in silence before entering the premises. Mobile phones with cameras should not be used to take pictures or videos inside the Mandir.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed in the premises, including parking. Please throw the cigarettes before entering the doors.
NJ BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Conduct:
Please refrain from touching the delicate carvings. To maintain the spiritual atmosphere observe silence inside the Mandir.

Children of all ages are welcome. However, visitors aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

No pets allowed within complex. (Service dogs allowed in most areas except sacred spaces used for prayer and meditation.)
