Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple Opening and Closing timings:
Opening at 6.00 AM and remains open until 9.00 PM
On festival days temple’s opening and closing timings may change.
Here is a list of what should and should not be done for the pilgrims/Devotees attention.
Do’s:
Worship your Ishta or Kula Deivam before starting Srirangam Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple.
Take a bath in Cauvery River and wear clean clothes before entering Lord Ranganathaswamy shrine.
Focus on Lord Ranganathaswamy inside the temple.
Observe silence and chant “Om Namo Narayanaya” mantra inside the shrine.
Respect ancient customs in the Temple and encourage religious feelings among pilgrims.
Deposit all your offerings in the Hundi installed in the Temple.
Keep the temple premises clean.
Leave all your Electronic gadgets ie Mobile phones, Calculator, all types of Camera and footwear before entering the temple.
Dont’s:
Don’t eat non-vegetarian food near the temple or before entering the temple.
Don’t consume liquor or other intoxicants near the temple or before entering the temple.
Don’t smoke near the temple.
Don’t approach agents or other source for Accommodation and Darshan.
Don’t wear footwear in and around the Temple premises.
Don’t buy duplicate prasadams from street vendors.
Do not come to the Temple for any other purpose than to worship the Lord.
Don’t rush in queue for Darshan.
Don’t encourage beggary by offering food or money to them..
Don’t waste, water and electricity in the rooms.
Don’t allow strangers into your rooms.
Don’t spit, urinate or defecate in the open areas around the temple premisis.
Don’t carry weapons.
