Lumbini Park is located to the land adjacent to Hussain Sagar Lake and secretariat, the largest artificial lake of Asia, the Lumbini Park is a place worth visiting. An apt place for relaxation, this park is visited by everyone not only for entertainment but for education too both for adults and kids. The Lumbini Park has become an ideal place of relaxation and a place of amusement. The park has been named after the garden that was the birth place of Prince Siddhartha who later went on to become Lord Buddha. The park also contains a statue of Lord Buddha located in the middle of the lake on a raised platform. The park is a hit with kids and families and has several attractions that could lure you to spend an evening away from home, with your family. The official name of this park is T.Anjaiah Lumbini Park, this park was renamed as T. Anjaiah Lumbini Park in the year of 2006, the later chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, presently Telangana. However, popularly it is still known by the name of Lumbini Park .On the both sides of this there are two different views one is of the huge Telangana secretariat and on other side its world’s largest artificial Hussein Sagar lake.
This park has been wonderfully landscaped and it offers plenty several sites for enjoying .One of the main attractions of the Lumbini Park is the giant clock at the entrance of the park, which has been designed using various kinds of colorful flowering plants. Along with seasonal flowering plants, wide variety of cacti and rocks, the park also has many options to keep kids entertained.
Boating is another attraction that pulls visitors to this place. One can hire a paddle boat and take it for a ride in the lake next to the park. This also gives an opportunity to get closer to the Lord Buddha statue located in the middle of the lake. Ant hill is the exhibition of huge models of insects and fruits.
Musical fountain and the laser show at the Lumbini Park is something not to be missed. Musical fountain in which the water from the synchronized fountains is released in accordance with the tunes being played which are generally in Telugu. The Musical fountain and water cascades attract everyone. The sight of water shooting up to the sky, making a screen of water where the history of Hyderabad is being shown is something not many of us have seen before. It is an experience in itself. The park is open to visitors on all days except Mondays. A laser show is held at venue every day at 7:15 pm except weekends when it happens twice at 7:15 pm and at 8:30 pm.
For an enjoyable evening, by the side of nature this is one of the best places in the city. A refreshing break from the malls and movie halls, Lumbini Park offers a setting where you can laze around; a perfect place to spend some quality time with your loved ones. During summer it’s very nice to lie down on the cool grass while the kids are out for playing and also other water bodies add on to cool atmosphere. There are also some negatives of the park is that the water bodies aren’t maintained well and hence it gives a stinky smell. The management in the park should take care of these issues with proper maintenance.
