Shri Mahalakshmi Temple is a famous Shaktipeeth in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This Shakti Peetham is listed in various puranas. The temple was built in the 7th century. Mahalakshmi statue is mounted on a stone platform, the statue with four arms and crowned goddess is made up of gemstone. The weigh of the statue is about 40 kgs. The image of Sri Mahalakshmi carved on black stone is of 3 feet in height. Huge number of devotees visit this temple daily to get the blessing of goddess Shakti.
