On Monday evening Pournami Garuda Seva was performed at Tirumala hills following the appearance of Full moon (Pournami).
For the sake of the pilgrims Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam perform Pournami Garuda Seva on all Pournami days(full moon) every month. This Pournami Garuda Seva was started in 2006.
This is the main event during nine-day brahmotsavams, as lakhs of pilgrims throng to witness the grandeur of Lord on this day. However, in the larger interests of the pilgrims, Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam has began Pournami Garuda Seva for every Pournami with an aim to provide opportunity to the pilgrims who fails to visit on Brahmotsavams festivals.
This event has a huge gathering of devotees and pilgrims, as tens of thousands of pilgrims converge to witness the procession of Lord Malayappa Swamy in the four-mada streets during every Pournami.
TTD EO Dr Sambasiva Rao, DyEO Sri Chinnamgari Ramana, Addl CVSO Sri Sivakumar Reddy, Temple Peishkar Sri Selvam and others took part.
