Sunday Feasts History:

The founder – Acarya of the Hare Krishna movement, Srila Prabhupada, began the famous Sunday feasts in 1966. In the first temple of Krishna in the western world, located in the Lower East Side of New York, he would personally help cook twelve-course meals. Regular attendance at the party has rapidly increased to three or four hundred people. In general, these vacations consisted of Poors, Pushpanna Rice, Samosas, Pakoras, 2 Vegetable Subjis, Kheer, Burfi and lassi.

The RVC will provide free transportation to and from Kansas City air, train and bus terminals for approved students and faculty/staff members traveling to or from RVC.

By airplane come to Kansas City International Airport (35 minutes by car from the RVC)

By train come to Kansas City, Missouri station (10 minutes by car from the RVC)

By bus come to Kansas City, Missouri station (20 minutes by car from the RVC)

Coming East to RVC by Car: Take the I70 East to 670 to The Paseo exit (#3A) then go south on The Paseo 4 ¾ miles to 5201 The Paseo.

Coming West to RVC by Car: Take I70 West to 670 West to The Paseo exit (#3A) then go south on The Paseo 4 ¾ miles to 5201 The Paseo.

Coming North to RVC by Car:

1. Take I35 North to 75th St. exit (#227). Go east on 75th St. for 7 miles to The Paseo. Then turn left (north) and go about three miles to 5201 The Paseo.

2. Take US71 North to 63rd St. exit. Go west on 63rd St. about ¾ of a mile to The Paseo. Turn right on The Paseo (north) and go 1 1/3 miles on The Paseo to 5201 The Paseo.

Coming South to RVC by Car: Take I35 or I29 South to exit at The Paseo (#4A). Go south on The Paseo 5 ¼ miles to 5201 The Paseo.
