Krishna Kaliya Temple:
Krishna Kaliya temple is located in the heart of Lautoka city. It is one of the temple that Srila Prabhupada himself layed the foundation of. The temple is unique in the name as well, since there is no other Krishna Kaliya temple in the world. Kaliya is believed to be thrown in an island referred to as “ramneek dweep” by Lord Krishna and that island according to many is Fiji island.Kaliya the great devotee of lord Krishna resides in the mountain highland of Naukauvandra ranges. Krishna Kaliya is the oldest ISKCON temple in Fiji and had once been the base for preaching. In fact this is the temple from where Krishna Consciousness movement started in Fiji. just recently the temple underwent immense renovation and refurbishment to cater for increasing needs. It now houses a double storey complex as ashram and sanyasi quarters 9 for traveling preachers to the temple) , prasadam hall, Gift shop and a separate kitchen for Sunday feast.
Sri Pancha Tattwa Temple
This temple is located outside Rakiraki town about twenty minutes drive by a car. The temple is under the care of some devotees who have been residing there for a long time.Rakiraki is actually a farming area in Fiji. Although the number of devotees there is not many it however has all regular programs and preaching activities. Currently the Senior Doctor at the sub – divisional hospital Dr.Sravaniya Dasi is an ISKCON devotee and there is a big contribution from her in preaching programs. She has been the corner-stone of success in many of recent programs in Rakiraki.
Sri Radha Damodar Temple:
Sri Radha Damodar Temple, a 3 storey multi-million dollar complex that houses the temple of Sri Sri Radha Damodar, Srimati Radharani boutique shop, restaurant, medical centre , ashrams and prasadam hall at various levels is a landmark achievement of Srila Tamala Krishna Goswami Gurudev’s dear disciples HG Gita Kirti DD and HG Gurusmarna DD. The temple project was undertaken by the 2 matajis under spiritual guidance from HH Vedavayasapriya Swami and GBC for Fiji HH Bir Krishna Goswami Maharaj.
The temple boasts state of art facility for worship having separate kitchen for deities and public cooking, modern multi-media built in the hall for other functions apart from religious gatherings such as weddings, birthdays and seminars. The temple premises also contain a special memorable museum built in honor of Srila Tamala Krishna Gurudev.
The presiding deities, Sri Sri Radha Damodar resides on the top floor adorned with magnificent dressing and jewellery lovingly served by devotees through out the day. The temple contains beautifully carved dioramas of Sri Pancha Tattva, Sri Rama Chandra and a beautiful form of Lord Damdar being bound by Yasoda Mata. At the main entrance of the temple is Lord Shiva .
The temple is just few meters away from the main town and can be seen from a distance while crossing the famous Sigatoka bridge.
Sri Radha Vrindavanchandra:
Sri Radha Vrindavanchandra temple is located in the second largest island in the Fiji group, Vanua Levu. It is in Labasa town which is center of commercial and economical activities for Fiji’s northern division. The temple has beautiful form of Sri Radha Vrindavanchandra as its presiding deities.
Suva Sri Sri Radha Goloka Bihari Temple Sunday Feast:
Initiated by His Divine Grace, the Sunday Feast Program has always been popular amongst general public and devotees alike in all temples and centers everywhere in the world. The purpose of Sunday Feast is to preach and serve the community with wholesome nutritious prasadam and also to allow them to inquire about Lord Sri Krsna to ISKCON devotees. Call it simply, Srila Prabhupada wanted Sunday Feast to be a pure “sadhu sanga”.
In Suva Temple, every Sunday devotees organize tasty prasadam and distribute it to all guests after the regular program ( for each Sunday finishes). The temple committee prepares a special class roster which lists devotees to give Sunday Feast pravachan ( discourse) based on Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavat Gita As it Is or Srimad Bhagavatam.
Normally the Sunday Feast Program begins with a Kirtan around 11.00 am. By 11.30 am most guests have arrived and the devotee responsible to give discourse ( for that particular day) sings Jay Radha Madhava Bhajan. After an ecstatic 30 minute bhajans and kritans, a sunday feast lecture follows. Guests are allowed to ask questions and seek clarifications based on the days discourse before the grand arati of mid day. The miday arati begins 12.30pm that lasts for half an hour. Concluding with announcements, guest are invited into the prasadam hall for lunch.
Since the temple opened, not a single day has been missed where a Sunday feast was not held. Usually 150 – 200 guests attend a Sunday feast while the number of guests significantly increase from 100’s to thousands on major festivals.
Just recently the temple has started Harinam from 9.00 am – 10 am before Sunday Feast program begins. Everyone is invited.
The exact time for the program may change at certain times therefore it is advised that temple office be contacted in advance for any special visits to the temple.
