The Rahu Ketu Pooja is a Hindu ritual performed to appease the two malefic planets, Rahu and Ketu. These planets are known to cause havoc in one’s life if not positioned correctly in their horoscope. The pooja is performed at the Sri Kalahasti temple located in Tirupati. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and is renowned for its powerful Rahu Ketu Pooja. The puja is conducted by a group of experienced priests, who chant mantras and perform specific rituals to invoke the blessings of the deities.
The Rahu Ketu Pooja is an important ritual performed in Sri Kalahasti during Rahu Kalam Timings. Devotees planning to attend the Pooja should make sure they are available during this auspicious time at the temple. Sri Kalahasti Temple is always bustling with devotees from all over the country who come to participate in the Rahu Ketu Pooja.

The Pooja is conducted at various locations within the temple premises, with the location depending on the cost of the ticket. However, the benefits of the Rahu Ketu Pooja remain the same, regardless of the location. The Pooja is performed both inside and outside the main temple.
Pilgrims who plan to participate in the Rahu Ketu Pooja at Sri Kalahasti temple do not need to bring any Pooja materials along with them. The necessary materials will be provided to them at the ticket counter when they purchase the Pooja ticket. The Pooja Samagri, which includes all essential materials required for the Pooja, is included in the Rahu Ketu Pooja ticket. Hence, there is no need for pilgrims to carry any additional materials.
Although there are shops available within the temple complex that sell Pooja materials for the Rahu Ketu Pooja, it is important to note that the materials provided at the ticket counter are adequate for the Pooja requirements. Hence, pilgrims need not worry about purchasing additional materials from the shops, as the materials provided along with the Pooja ticket are sufficient for the Pooja ritual.
The Rahu Ketu Pooja is performed in batches at Mandapam and Halls, with separate Entry and Exit Doors. Devotees must exit through the designated doors after completing the Pooja to proceed for Lord Shiva Darshan inside the Temple.
For Rs. 500 tickets, devotees are allocated a seat in a hall. Although the hall may be crowded, sufficient space is provided to perform the Pooja. The Temple priest will guide the devotees throughout the Pooja, using a microphone to ensure that his instructions are audible to everyone. He will explain each step in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English to facilitate ease of understanding.
If any steps are missed, Temple staff members will be present nearby to offer assistance. The rest of the Pooja process is simple and takes approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.
Once the Rahu Ketu Pooja at Mandapam is finished, devotees must carry the Silver Idols with them and place them in the Hundi located inside the Temple.
