Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple has been an important place of worship for centuries in Thazhathangadi, Kottayam District, Kerala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, there is a fort surrounding the temple called Thalikotta. In the local language, kotta means fort and this is how the temple got its name.
