    1. Dear Vignesh
Sabarimala Ayyappa Fasting (Vrath / Viratham / Vratham) is observed for 41 days before going to Sabarimala.
The Mandala Kalam begins on Vrishchikam 1st and ends on 11th or 12th of Dhanu, according to the traditional Malayalam Calendar.
First you need to prepare mentally and physically leaving all sort of bad habits if any and should maintain a distance with girls and womens. This viradham should be observed very strictly for the 41 days.
Consult a Guru Swamy who will prepare to take the maala to start the vratham.
After wearing the maala you should take bath twice daily first before sun rise time and secondly after sun set time.
Avoid non veg and alcohol and cigar, movies etc,. Only veg food and do not take yesterdays food.
You should hear and concentrate only on devine path like always uttering then naama of Lord Ayyappa, and his slokss or songs and not any other film songs.Dont go for any sort of aurguments or fights. Regrain wearing foot wear.
Simply your Mind should be full of devotion and prayers
Majority of the devotees begin wearing the mala from the first day of Vrishchikam. Wearing the maala on a Saturday or on the day of asterism of Uthram, just prior to the first day of Vrishchikam is considered auspicious. It is that Lord Ayyappan was born on first Vrishchikam on a Saturday, the asterism being Uthram.
Kanni ayyappan (the first time goer) should use black or Kavi shirt and Mundu (Dhoti), while bearing his irumudikettu , only on his later visits he can go for other colours.
Should visit the nearby temple or should perform Pooja at home to Lord Ayyappa while observing vratham.
After finishing the Mandala vrath you will be required to do homa pooja to take the IRUMUDI to start to SABARIMALA.
This is what you need to follow and if any doubts then ask the GURU SWAMY and he will explain if any you want.
      Om Namah Shivaya
