2022 Shirdi Sai Baba Punyatithi start day 04-10-2022 and ends on 07-10-2022.

Vijayadashami is a great festival in Shirdi, worshipped as a holy day and is visited by millions of devotees. The devotees celebrate this day as Sai Baba Punyathi every year which falls on the day of Dussehra, which is also known as Vijayadashami. Saibaba attained Maha Samadhi on October 15, 1918 (around 2.30 p.m.) on the day of Vijayadashami. This is a 3-day festival. Millions of devotees rush to Shirdi and Maha Prasad is distributed.

The first day of the festival is marked with a huge procession which is withdrawn with the image of Sai Baba and Sai Satcharitra written by his devotee, Hemadpant. On the main day, water from the Godavari river is brought for the sacred bath of Shri Sai Baba and a procession on the chariot is taken with great devotion. The main temple remains open for 24 hours during the last day of celebrations. On Vijayadashami, “Brahman Bhojan” is also organized with Dakshina. On the last day of the “SGavjewan” festival (a free meal for all villagers and faithful) is distributed.
