Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam news on 5th January : The Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Dr D. Samba Siva Rao has formally launched the issuance of Rs.300 special entry darshan tickets in all the head post offices (H.P.Os) present across Andhra Pradesh and Telengana the states on Monday.
Speaking on this occasion at the Head Post Office in Tirupati, the EO said, that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has entered into an agreement with Department of Posts over the issuance of Rs.300 darshan tickets which facilitates a devotee to book the ticket even from a remote area.
Adding further the EO said, as a pilot project Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has launched this project on December 1 last in five districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana. “After receiving positive response from the masses, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam along with DoP have extended the facility in all the 95 HPO’s in both the Telugu speaking states and also in Narsampet and Madanapalle Bazar sub-post offices also. He said this method of booking will be more pilgrim-friendly rather than internet booking or e-Darshan since majority of them including rural masses will have more access towards post offices”, he maintained.
The EO also said, in the wake of complaints over the internet booking of Rs.300 tickets, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is also contemplating to ensure internet booking in the post offices which have internet facility.
Over the request of Chief Post Master General Sri BV Sudhakar to enable the booking of accommodation and kalyana mandapam facility also in HPOs, the EO replied that he will look into the possibilities.
Meanwhile Mr B Sreedhar Babu and Ms B Suneetha booked the first tickets in Tirupati HPO which were handed over by the top officials of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and DoPs respectively.
Temple Deputy EO Sri C Ramana, GM Transport Sri Sesha Reddy, EDP Manager Sri Bhaskar and others were also present.
