ਦੋਸ਼ਪਰਿਹਾਰਾਸ਼੍ਟਕਮ੍ ਸਾਰ੍ਥਮ੍ Lyrics in Punjabi:
ਅਨ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਦੋਸ਼ਗਣਨਾਕੁਤੁਕਂ ਮਮੈਤਦਾਵਿਸ਼੍ਕਰੋਤਿ ਨਿਯਤਂ ਮਯਿ ਦੋਸ਼ਵਤ੍ਤ੍ਵਮ੍ ।
ਦੋਸ਼ਃ ਪੁਨਰ੍ਮਯਿ ਨ ਚੇਦਖਿਲੇ ਸਤੀਸ਼ੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਗ੍ਰਹਃ ਕਥਮੁਦੇਤੁ ਮਮੇਸ਼ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ॥ ੧॥
1) O Lord! My inclination in finding fault with others definitely shows my imperfection. If there is no flaw in myself,
then everyone will become Isha and if so, how will I be able to find fault with others?
ਏਸ਼ਾ ਵ੍ਯਥੇਤਿਰਕਤੇਤਿ ਮਮੇਸ਼ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਕੋਪੋ ਯਦਿ ਸ੍ਵਪਰਕਾਮਮੁਖਪ੍ਰਸੂਤਾ ।
ਸੇਯਂ ਵ੍ਯਥੇਤਿ ਮਯਿ ਮੇ ਨ ਕਥਨ੍ਨੁ ਕੋਪਃ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਯ ਵ੍ਯਥਾ ਸ੍ਵਦੁਰਿਤਪ੍ਰਭਵਾ ਹਿ ਸਰ੍ਵਾ ॥ ੨॥
2) O Lord! I am angry with others because I feel that I am subjected to this suffering because of them. When my wish/liking and others’ wishes/likings clash, then should I not get angry with myself too, since I am also a reason for the clash of the wishes/likings? Further, is it not true that this suffering is a result of my own sins, because my wish/liking did not succeed and so I get angry?
ਕਾਮਭਤ੍ਯਖਿਲਦੋਸ਼ਨਿਧੇਰ੍ਮਮੈਸ਼ ਮਯ੍ਯਾਹ ਦੋਸ਼ਮਿਤਿ ਕੋ ਨੁ ਦੁਰਾਗ੍ਰਹੋਂऽਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ।
ਹੇਯਤ੍ਵਮਾਲਪਤਿ ਯੋऽਯਮਲਂ ਨ ਕੇਨ ਵਾਰ੍ਯੋऽਥ ਸਤ੍ਵਵਤਿ ਸੋऽਯਮਸਤ੍ਕਿਮਾਹ ॥ ੩॥
3) I am the repository of all imperfections such as lust and anger. Why should I get angry just because he pointed
out at my imperfection? Did he point this on a person who is blemishless? (No) He merely reiterated I am marred by a
blemish which is avoidable.
ਯਃ ਸਂਸ਼੍ਰਿਤਃ ਸ੍ਵਹਿਤ ਧੀਰ੍ਵ੍ਯਸਨਾਤੁਰਸ੍ਤਦ੍ਦੋਸ਼ਸ੍ਯ ਤਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਵਚੋऽਸ੍ਤੁ ਤਦਨ੍ਯਦੋਸ਼ਂ ।
ਯਦ੍ਵਚ੍ਮਿ ਤਨ੍ਮਮ ਨ ਕਿਂ ਕ੍ਸ਼ਤਯੇ ਸ੍ਵਦੋਸ਼ਚਿਨ੍ਤੈਵ ਮੇ ਤਦਪਨੋਦਫਲੋਚਿਤਾਤਃ ॥ ੪॥
4) If someone comes to me considering me as a well-wisher then I can perhaps point out his blemishes. Else, will not
this habit of pointing out blemishes of others result in my own downfall? If the recognition of one’s own blemishes is
used to eradicate those blemishes, then it is apt.
ਦੋਸ਼ਂ ਪਰਸ੍ਯ ਨਨੁ ਗਹ੍ਣਤਿ ਮਯ੍ਯਨੈਨ ਸ੍ਵਾਤ੍ਮੈਸ਼ ਏਵ ਪਰਗਾਤ੍ਰਸਮਾਹਤੇਨ
ਦੁਰ੍ਵਸ੍ਤੁਨੇਵ ਮਲਿਨੀਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ ਤਦਨ੍ਯਦੋਸ਼ਗ੍ਰਹਾਦਹਹ ਕਿਂ ਨ ਨਿਵਰ੍ਤਿਤਵ੍ਯਮ੍ ॥ ੫॥
5) My mind becomes dirty by carrying the resulting dirt through criticism of others. Hence shoud I not avoid such a habit?
ਨਿਰ੍ਦੋਸ਼ਭਾਵਮਿਤਰਸ੍ਯ ਸਦੋਸ਼ਭਾਵਂ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਯਾਪਿ ਸਂਵਿਦਧਤੀ ਪਰਦੋਸ਼ਧੀਰ੍ਮੇ ।
ਆਸ੍ਤਾਮਿਯਂ ਤਦਿਤਰਾ ਤੁ ਪਰਾਰ੍ਤਿਮਾਤ੍ਰਹੇਤੁਰ੍ਵ੍ਯਨਕ੍ਤੁ ਨ ਕਥਂ ਮਮ ਤੁਚ੍ਛਭਾਵਮ੍॥ ੬॥
6) This crticising tendency actually will only confirm that the blemish is within myself and not in others. Further this
tendency will cause discomfort to others. Will that not show my meanness and pettiness?
ਪਦ੍ਮਾਦਿਸੌਰਭ ਇਵ ਭ੍ਰਮਰਸ੍ਯ ਹਰ੍ਸ਼ਂ ਹਿਤ੍ਵਾਨ੍ਯਦੀਯਸੁਗੁਣੇ ਪੁਨਰਨ੍ਯਦੋਸ਼ੇ ।
ਹਰ੍ਸ਼ੋ ਦੁਰਰ੍ਥ ਇਵ ਗੇਹਕਿਟੇਃ ਕਿਮਾਸ੍ਤੇ ਹਾ ਮੇ ਕਦੇਸ਼ ਕਪਯਾ ਵਿਗਲੇਤ੍ਸ ਏਸ਼ਃ ॥ ੭॥
7) When I see greatness in others, I get pleasure in the same way as a bee gets pleasure by smelling lotus flower. But when I find fault with others, I get pleasure in the same way as a pig gets pleasure when it gets into the gutter. O Lord! When will I get absolved of this blemish by Your blessing?
ਦੋਸ਼ੇ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਜਿ ਮਤਿਕੌਸ਼ਲਮਨ੍ਯਭਾਜਿ ਮੌਢ੍ਯਂ ਗਣੇऽਨ੍ਯਜੁਸ਼ਿ ਹਰ੍ਸ਼ਭਰਃ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਜਿ ।
ਅਸ੍ਤਪ੍ਰਸਕ੍ਤਿਰਖਿਲੇਸ਼ੁ ਦਯਾਤ੍ਯੁਦਾਰਵਤ੍ਯੋਰ੍ਜਿਤੋ ਮਮ ਕਦਾऽਸ੍ਤੁ ਹਰਾਨੁਰਾਗਃ ॥ ੮॥
8) Let the intellect be used to recognize and eradicate one’s own blemishes and not with others’. Let there be
pleasure through seeing greatness of others. Let there be no attachment, should there be greatness in self. Let there
be love for all. O Lord! When will I get this supreme mental stature through which I get unswerving bhakti unto You?
