Guru Purnima Significance:
Guru Purnima is also celebrated under the name of Vyasa Purnima since this day marks the anniversary of the birth of Guru Veda Vyasa, generally considered the author of the Mahabharata.
Guru Purnima is also known as Vyasa Purnima, is celebrated on the day of the full moon or Purnima of Shukla Paksh or the moon crescent of the Ashadha month of the Hindu calendar. As the name suggests, the day is dedicated to gurus or teachers. In Guru Purnima, students worship their gurus / teachers, offering them puja and payers and respecting them.
In ancient Hindu texts, gurus were of great importance in the life of a disciple. Gurus refer to the spiritual direction that enlightens disciples through their knowledge and teachings.
