VIDYALAYA – Youth Education School:
An important aspect of Hinduism is educating our young people about our culture and religion. The Hindu temple of eastern Iowa accomplishes this through our unique program, Vidyalaya. The goal of this program is to help our youth understand our rich Hindu culture, scriptures, rituals and Dharma. This program helps a person become a better person and progress in his spiritual Saadana. Parents are welcome to join and benefit from this program.
CLASSES ARE HELD WEEKLY ON SUNDAYS FROM 10AM-11.30AM AT THE HINDU TEMPLE.
We have three levels in our programs and curriculum is designed appropriate to the group.

Our classes are very interactive. We encourage debate/discussions on various subjects regarding Hinduism.
Some of other activities included are:
Taking part in all the festivals in the temple in the form of performances or volunteering
Annual Quiz competition
Learning about one great spiritual master each year
Bhagavat Gita Jayanthi celebrations

GNANODAYA:
Gnanodaya is a platform / stage where people (aged 18 and over) can share, express or speak about various aspects of Hindu religion, spirituality, philosophy and Hindu way of life. In addition, individuals may present the similarities and differences of other world religions with Hinduism, as well as the positive influences of religion on society / community, especially on the Indo-American community.
Gnanodaya directs the Bhagavad Geeta class of Sunita Vemuganti, in the Temple. Please check the temple’s weekly mail and temple site for time and date. The class is open to all (over 16) There will be questions and answers, and a discussion at the end of the course.
Gnanodaya is also requesting talks from community members. Speakers interested in giving Talks or Speeches, need to submit their chosen article or topic to the “Gnanodaya” for selection and approval. The speaker will be notified of the day and time of their presentation following approval.
