Hindu Temple of Southwest Florida History:
We are a group of people in Southwest Florida, who believe that Hinduism, the oldest religion in the world, embodies the eternal values (Sanatan Dharma) relevant to all those who seek answers to problems and problems of the life.
In 1990, a group of people started with prayer meetings in people’s homes. As the community grew, funds were raised for the purchase of land. After much effort, the land was finally purchased in 2004 and the group gathered on land to pray in an open air temple.
Finally, in 2008, sufficient funds were raised to begin construction of an 8,500-square-foot temple. The opening ceremony was held on January 20, 2008, an exceptionally cold day for South Florida.
From then on, construction began at Ernest and it was decided to install 3 deities: Lord Shiva Parivar, Ganesh and Sri Krishna. The Shilpis expert in India worked on each section of the granite mandates designed by Padmashree Muthia Stapathi for the deities. The mandaps have been assembled on the site. After a three-year wait, the 8,500-square-foot temple was finally completed and Pranapratishta / Kumbhaabhishekam was held on June 11, 2011.
