7 March Tirupati: On monday all the temples in tirupati was resounded with rhythmic chantings of Hara Hara Mahadeva, Om Namah shivaya and Shambho Shankara from the early hours of a day till midnight.
All the streets in tirupati were filled with pilgrims in a long queue.
A long queue lines of pilgrims was formed at Kapileswara Swamy temple to have the dharshan of Lord Shiva outside the temple on the auspicious day of Mahasivarathri. The queue lines was more than one km. This Kapileswara Swamy temple is a most popular Saiva Kshetra.
The Mahasivarathri day started with Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam at 2.30 am which was followed by Bhogi Theru between 7.00 am and 9.00 am. All the shiva devotees were allowed for sarva darshan from 5.30 am till 12.00 midnight on Monday.
On the same day evening the lord had a special ride on the Nandi Vahanam in the streets from 6.00 pm to 10.00pm. Nandi Vahanam is the favourite of all vahanams to Lord shiva.
TTD Chairman, Dr Ch Krishna Murthy, TTD EO Dr D,Sambasiva Rao, DyEO Mr.Balaji, AEO Mr.Subramanyam, Temple Inspector Mr.Srinivasulu, Exe Engineer Mr.Jagadeeswara Reddy and others officers took part in the Mahasivarathri event.
Security Arrangements:
TTD has made a planned and tight security arrangements to maintain the pilgrims from the unexpected incidents due to the huge rush.
