Vallam Temple Greatness:

Vallam means head. As the length of the place extended till the head part of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy in Thiruvanathapuram, the place is called Vallam. Due to the prayer of His Holiness Vilwamangalam Swamigal, who installed the idol of Perumal, Perumal’s height decreased in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, according to Sthala Puranas. Parasurama temple is considered as the main part of Anantha Padmanabha Swami, Thiruvananthapuram is the body part and Tirupadapuram is his feet part. Therefore, it is suggested that devotees visit all three temples at the same time, one by one, to get the most out of the prayers.
