Tripuranthakam Brahmana Satram History:
The famous temple dedicated to Sri Tripurantakeswara Swamy is located at Tripurantakam village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. Tripurantakam is 40 km away from the nearest towns Markapur & Vinukonda, 93 km from Ongole and about 150 km from Vijayawada. It is on Guntur-Srisailam route. The temple is situated on the top of a hill and is regarded as the Eastern gateway to the famous Srisailam temple.

The temple complex and deity of Goddess Sri Bala Tripura Sundari is located down the hill, in the middle of a tank and will be in the middle of water when the Tripurantakam tank is full or half full. A Srichakram is also present here. The legend about the Tripurantakam temple is as follows.
As per Shiva Purana, it is at this place where Lord Shiva, with the help of Goddess Sri Bala Tripura Sundari, destroyed Tripurasuras (demons ruling three cities). Here she is known as Bala Tripura Sundari because she is in the form of a little girl. Shivaratri & Navaratri are very famous festivals in this temple when people from the neighbouring districts visit this temple. Since Lord Shiva destroyed the three cities along with the demons he is known as Tripuranthakeswara and this place as Tripuranthakam. Tripurantakeswara swamy temple is on the hill top and it is believed that there is a secret underground passage from the temple premises to Srisailam.

Other important places to visit here are Kadamba Vruksham, Siddi Gruha, Sri Chakram, and Aparajeswara Temple and there are few temples nearby dedicated to Lord Siddi Ganapathi, Goddess Parvathi, etc.

Kadamba Vruksham is very famous tree which goddess Tripura Sundari Devi liked very much. This tree can be seen only in Kasi and in this place.

Srichakram: Originally the deity of Lord Tripurasundari Devi was in Ugra Roopam and hence the devotees were afraid of her darshan. Later, Sri Aadi Shankaracharya established Sri Chakram, which made the deity cool that enabled all the devotees view her peaceful form that would help them fulfill their lives.

About the Choultry:

Main Purpose of Establishing Choultry:
Tripuranthakam- Maha Punyakhsetram: Since the Goddess Bala TripuraSundari shows her glory to the devotees there is huge crowd in the temple, particularly during pournami, Dasara Navaratrulu, Vasanthotsavam, MahaSivartri and on every Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Being a very powerful Goddess, many sages and Brahmins used to visit the temple for nista poojas. But, since the temple is located on the hill top, there are problems for the accommodation and food.

Considering this fact, good accommodation facilities are established and food facilities are provided to the devotees.

1) The Akhila Bharatha Nityannada choultry was started in the year of 2010 which is located very close to the Bala Tripura temple.
2) The building is constructed with One Dining Hall, Kitchen, 14 rooms (2 AC rooms).
3) It is also proposed to start few projects like Gosala, Oldage Home and Vedapatasala.
