Sant Kabirdas (1440-1518 circa) is revered as a famous poet, saint and social reformer of India. His writings had made significant influence in the Bhakti movement in India. Kabir Panth is a religious community founded by Sant Kabirdas and the members of this community are known as Kabir Panthis, the followers of Saint Kabirdas.
Bijak, Sakhi Granth, Kabir Granthawali and Anurag Sagar are the famous writings of Sant Kabirdas. Major portion of his work was collected by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, who incorporated it into the Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib. His two line couplets, most popularly known as Kabir Ke Dohe, are the hallmark of Kabir’s work.
According to Hindu lunar calendar, the birth anniversary of Sant Kabir is observed on Jyeshtha Purnima.
