History and Significance of Dwaraka Tirumala Tiru Kalyanam

Dwaraka Tirumala TiruKalyanam is a sacred ritual that commemorates the celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara Swamy with Goddess Padmavathi Devi. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Venkateswara Swamy is an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu, and Goddess Padmavathi Devi is an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi. The legend has it that Lord Venkateswara Swamy fell in love with Padmavathi Devi, who was the daughter of Akasa Raja, the ruler of the celestial kingdom. The wedding ceremony was held at Narayanavanam, a village in Puttur, and was attended by a host of celestial beings, saints, and sages.
