Karvetinagaram Sri Venugopala Swamy temple is gearing up for its annual Vasanthotsavam which will be celebrated from April 11 to 13. This three-day festival is a grand affair where devotees from all over come to witness the splendid rituals and festivities.
Each morning, the Lord is awakened with Suprabhatam and Thomala, followed by Koluvu, pachanga shravanam, and Archana. The highlight of the festival is the grand celebration of Snapana Thirumanjanam and Asthanam for the Utsavas of Sri Venugopala Swamy and Sri Rukmini Satyabhama from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. The Abhishekam is performed using turmeric, milk, curd, honey, sandalwood, and a variety of fruit juices.
The festival also includes a grand procession from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, taken out on the four Mada streets of the temple for three consecutive days. This is an occasion where the devotees get a chance to witness the grandeur of the Lord as he is carried on a beautifully decorated chariot around the temple.
