The Garbarakshambigai pregnancy puja is a sacred ritual performed to seek the blessings of Sri Garbarakshambigai for a healthy and safe pregnancy. Here are the timings and procedures for this special pooja:
Garbarakshambigai Pregnancy Puja:
- A couple can perform special puja anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. every day. This puja is performed daily.
- Cost: The Puja costs Rs. 500, and it includes all the Puja materials you need.
- Steps: People clean the path to the special prayer area and applies ghee on each step.
- Prayer: The priest will place the ghee in the special Puja area and recite mantras.
- Instructions: At the end, the priest will give the ghee to the couple and tell them what to do.
- At Home: When the couple gets back home, they need to take the ghee given at the temple and mix it with ghee they can buy from any store.
- Eating Ghee: The couple has to eat one teaspoon of this mixed ghee every day for 48 days, except for women during their monthly period. Husbands can eat it even during these days.
- Time: The duration of the pooja can vary from 10 minutes to 2 hours, and it depends on how many people are there at the temple.
- Sundays tend to be crowded, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Additionally, the Margazhi month is considered particularly auspicious for this special pooja.
- Result: Devotees believe that good news comes to the couple even before the 48 days are over.
- Chanting: The couple has to chant mantra every day for 48 days in the morning and evening, after lighting a lamp before taking Ghee Prasadam.
