About Hungary Nava Vraja Dhama Krsna Vally:

The Krishna Valley is the largest and best organized ecological community in Hungary and Central Europe. It has been established since 1993. In our farming communities like the Krishna Valley we offer an alternative to a more sustainable, carefree, happy and peaceful future.

We would like to present our many activities and objectives below.

The 110 acres of the Krishna Valley, formerly pastures for sheep, are home to a wide variety of species. There are more than 950 different species of trees and shrubs in your botanical garden, which allows us (in addition to education) to preserve the values of nature and to find and study new varieties of edible plants. Self-sufficiency has always been our basic principle with the help of community work, social development and traditional technologies.

Our community also has an ecological garden, which supplies fruits and vegetables to the local temple and houses. In addition to producing, another important consideration is storage and preservation. We built a warehouse of 150 square meters in 2008, which promotes self-sufficiency during the winter months. We apply traditional methods of storage and preservation and dehydration without additives.

The Krishna Valley is not part of the national network. The necessary electricity is produced by solar panels and windmills. Water is supplied by the wells (next to local houses) and a common well 330 meters deep. The wastewater treatment is done with a cane sewer system without the need for chemicals or energy. Domestic washing technologies are based on eco-friendly washing materials, such as vinegar and soda.

The Cow Conservation Center is home to the Krishna Valley herd, where we have traditional Hungarian breeds, Tyrolean breeds and an Indian zebu. It is in constant development. At the moment, it consists of a corral of 550 square meters, two barns and two storage buildings for hay and equipment. Traditional farm machinery can be seen in action by first-hand visitors.

Besides all this, the Krishna Valley is the place of spiritual peace and development. Its inhabitants gave their lives to fulfill the wish of His Grace Srila Prabhupada, the acharya founder of the International Society of Krsna Consciousness. They dedicate their thoughts and actions to their beloved Deities, Sri-Sri Radha-Syamasundara, who stand on the central altar of the temple.

The children are educated by local teachers and our school has been accredited since 2009. In addition to the national curriculum, they study Vedic sciences, organic gardening, self-sufficiency, ecological lifestyle, theater, music, arts , crafts and many other things. Students also collect herbs and make jams. We teach them to appreciate the treasures of nature, animals and others, since all belong to God, Krishna.

We have between 25 and 30 thousand tourists visiting the Krishna Valley each year, and if they want guides, they can show them around the temple. A vegetarian restaurant and an Indian gift shop also facilitate the guests. The largest annual festival is Búcsú, which attracts an average of 7,000 tourists each year. Most spend the 3 days of the event in the Krishna Valley or in the region. A wide range of activities await you, for example, the garden, the barn, the ecological village, the temple, etc. and on stage they can watch a 10-hour program a day.

You can visit the Krishna Valley all year round! Visit us with the family and experience the miracle of the awakening of the soul. You are always welcome :-)
