Karaikal Nithyakalyana Perumal Temple is one of the three famous temples in Bharathiar Street, the port city of Karaikal, Puducherry. This Perumal Temple is nearby the Karaikal Ammayar Temple. Chandra Theertham (temple tank)separates the two temples which belong to both the temples.
The presiding is Sri Maha Vishnu in a lying posture and the deity is carved out by using a single stone known as Ekashila Vigraham in Karaikal Nithyakalyana Perumal Temple. The posture of the deity resembles the Srirangam Sri Ranganathar Swami temple in Trichy. The deity is in the “Ananthasayana” posture.
Rama Navami, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Hanuman Jayanti, Brahmotsavam in Maasi Masam and the whole month of Margazhi are the festive days and the best days to visit the temple as it is decked with lamps and lights and special pujas are offered. A large number of pilgrims visit the temple on these Special occasions.
