The Brahma Aranya river was created by Lord Brahma. Once, when he beat the arani wood (arani means fire) to create the fire to start the Yagna for Sage Romasar, the fire came out initially, but as it was still beaten, the water came out and floated like a river. Since it was created by Lord Brahma from Arani wood, it is called the Brahma Aranya river.
