Natural beauty and prosperity of sacred spots have been attracting all kind of people, from ascetic to common man, since time immemorial. Mallika Theertham locally known as Mallela Theertham is one such sacred spot which was also mentioned in the Skanda Purana. Mallela Theertham is located at a distance of about 54 km from Srisailam. To access this place, one has to take a diversion at Vatvarla Palli, a small village on Srisailam – Hyderabad highway and travel 10 km further into the interior forest.
It also involves trekking of 2 km at the end of the vehicular journey. As per legends, while Chandravathi worshipped God Siva at Srisailam offering jasmine garlands, she also worshipped the Sivalinga at this place, which is called Malleswara Lingam.
