Mpumalanga means place of the rising sun and the sun certainly rises on New Govardhana (ISKCON Mpumalanga) and the house of Sri Krishna and Balarama, always present, casting his merciful gaze, supervising the activities in ISKCON Mpumalanga. Based on Ermelo under the administration of Prabhupada Priya das, the reach of New Govardhana extends far and wide by ensuring that Krishna Consciousness extends across the region: Bethal, Trichardt, Kinross, Secunda, Witbank, Nelspruit, Middelburg , Standerton and Piet Retief where regular namahatta are made programs and Food for Life. A famous view in Ermelo has become the procession of Ratha Yatra Street, which has been held every year for a few years. In the pipeline are the plans for a Goshala to facilitate the protection of cows.
