About The Temple:
The New Dwarikadham temple is ISKCON’s newest and perhaps most opulent of gems. Situated on an expansive plot on Links Road, Nyali, this most magnificent of monuments is a sight to behold. The modern yet simple architectural design is not only pleasing to the eye but also soothing to the soul. Indeed it was the architect’s primary aim was to bring a feeling of peace and tranquility to the worshipper and the final product seems to have surpassed his expectations.
Built of a 2-acre plot, the New Dwarikadham Temple is a complex in true sense of the word. A magnificent temple is built in the centre of various other amenities which blend well with each other. The massive arched entrance gives way to a lush green garden adorned by array of colorful flowers. Dead in centre of the garden is a spectacular colored water fountain, a first of its kind in Kenya. Just beyond the garden is the main temple which is the very heart of the complex. Aesthetically designed in soft lines, it can only be described with one word: magnificent’. It is not only the biggest but arguably the most eye-catching temple in the entire region of E. Africa. No stone has been left unturned in the building of this truly remarkable monument. Marble-tiled floors, magnificent pillars, and massive rooms for deities are just some of the highlights of the temple. One simply has to see it in person not only to see but also to experience the sheer inner beauty and the very soul of this excellent temple.
The entire temple is surrounded by a cabro-tiled pathway on which devotees can walk/jog while they chant in an open and secure environment within the walls of the complex. This should be a big plus for all the Nyali residents who hitherto did not have such a facility. Now they have a facility where they can exercise their bodies and souls simultaneously in one location. Right behind the temple, are the other amenities which combine nicely with the functions of the main temple. Firstly we have the special accommodation block for the resident and visiting priests called Sant Niwas.
There is an air-conditioned multipurpose hall and an Indian Vegetarian Restaurant beyond the Sant Niwas. The hall can be used for marriages, parties or conferences among other purposes. The existence of luxurious accommodation, catering and huge hall in one compound makes it ideal for hosting marriages. To get married in the presence of the almighty Lord himself is not only a huge boon but a virtual guarantee for a long and happy married life.
An exclusive air conditioned Indian vegetarian restaurant is adjacent to the multipurpose hall. The eatery is built along the lines of the world famous ISKCON’s Govinda Restaurant chain. The restaurant will serve a wide variety of north and south Indian mouthwatering vegetarian menu made of the highest standards. Special chefs will be at hand to make sure that you have a culinary experience of a lifetime on your every visit to the complex.
There are 26 luxurious rooms on the upper floors being offered for accommodation. The self-contained rooms are expertly designed to rival any other accommodation in the Coast region. No efforts have been spared to make ones stay pleasant and comfortable. There are family rooms in form of two interconnecting rooms for families to feel at home on their visit to the complex. There are also two units of ultra-luxurious penthouses which will serve devotees who have taste for class and luxury. Finally we have the gift shop which will specialize in items and literature pertaining to religious matters. There is also a shop specializing in fresh and delicious Indian sweets and savories, the only one of its kind in Nyali area.
New Dwarikadham Temple is one-if-a-kind from every point of view. Not only are the amenities of global standards, but its magnificent structure amid tranquil ambience makes it a thing of beauty that would inspire even the poets. You need to visit it only once to guarantee a lifelong addiction to it.
