About Prabhupada Village ISKCON Temple:

Although eager to have a beautiful temple on the land that Madhuha dasa had donated and where one day beautiful deities could be installed, devotees from Prabhupada village gathered in a family home for programs for the first six years . In 1997-98, after much planning, the temple plans were developed by Vatsal Dasa and others and the floor was broken in 1998.

Mukunda Dasa, who lived in the community with his family, was an expert contractor in the construction of polysteel (block). The building was framed using these polystyrene blocks, which were extremely durable and easy to use, so easy in fact, that the kids helped build the temple as if they were assembling legos! The polysteel was then filled with concrete. A local manufacturer of artificial stones volunteered to make and donate stones for the exterior of the temple.

At first, and even though it was a challenge, residents and generous donors helped build the temple. Although work in the temple slowed down after a few years, he recovered and much of the inner work was done. The surrounding gardens are continually blooming, adding more beauty to the project.

The Temple of the Holy Name is a member of ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, and this site, iskconpv.org, is the official site of the temple. On May 8, 2016, beautiful 4 1/2 ‘Gaura-Nitai deities (Parama Karuna Nitai Gaurasundara) were installed in the temple. Please, come visit! Hare Krsna.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

The main objective and purpose of the TEMPLE OF THE HOLY NAME is to advance, propagate and disseminate the universal science of Krishna Consciousness as taught by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of the International Society for the Krishna consciousness.

Chaitanya Lord, who is Krishna Himself, appeared on Earth (1486-1534) to reveal simple and sublime ways to revive our relationship with sleeping Krishna, the Supreme Person, as taught in the Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. Lord Chaitanya also introduced the Yuga Dharma or the most effective ways to spiritually advance in the present age, which is known as sankirtana, or the congregational chant of the Holy Name of the Lord. Srila Prabhupada, therefore wanted systematically spread spiritual knowledge to society and to educate all peoples in the techniques of spiritual life in order to control the imbalance of values and achieve true unity and peace in the world We do this bringing people to the temple to discuss the revealed scriptures, participate in the chanting of the holy name, worship the deity in the form of Krishna and participate in different types for the enjoyment of Lord Sri Krishna devotional activities. The temple is also, of course, the epicenter of the profuse distribution of prasadam (delicious and sanctified food) was prepared and offered to the Lord with love and devotion, as well as the distribution of transcendental literatures, which are the basis of our lessons.

Because the TEMPLE OF THE HOLY NAME is located in a rural community, we also have the opportunity to teach a simpler and more natural way of life by growing our own food, protecting and demonstrating the usefulness of cows and bulls. as well as other important aspects of Vedic culture.
