The Shoban Yatra Bhajan mandalis took part in the Tirupati streets with the support of Dasa sahitya project as a part of Traimasika metlotsavam on Saturday evening.
More than 2500 Bhajan artistes joined from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharastra states took part in this public function.
After the Yatra, a meeting was held in III NC chowltry. Addressing the meeting Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam executive officer Sri D.Sambasiva Rao said, among the saint poets who undertook the noble mission of Bhakticult in the country, Dasas played an important role. “All the renowned Dasas including, the “pitamaha” of Kannada Dasa sahitya Sri Purandharadasa, Sri Narayanadasa, Sri kanakadasa and others preferred the Bhajan style propagation of devotion to reach large chunk of masses and succeeded in their mission. The Dasa sahitya project of TTD is also taking forward the legacy”, he added.
Meanwhile pejawar mutt seer Sri vishvesha teertha swamiji, mantralaya mutt pontiff Sri suvidyendra teertha swamiji delivered spiritual discourses on this occasion.
Project special officer Sri Anandateerthacharyulu, AEO Sri Prasada Murthy Raju and others were also present.
Meanwhile there will be metlotsavam on 5th of January by 4am at Alipiri
