The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri offers to sale the sacred wooden chariot wheels and other decorative parts of the Ratha chariots which are now preserved after Rath Jatra. The details of the same are as follows:
1. Chariot Wheels of Balabhadra (Taladwaja)
2. Chariot Wheels of Subhadra (Devadalan)
3. Chariot Wheels of Jagannath (Nandighosh)
4. Guja
5. Ashuari
6. Prabha

The upset prices of each Wheel is Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only), & that of each Guja or Ashuari is Rs. 10,000./- (Rupees ten thousand only) and each Prabha is Rs.25,000./- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) respectively. However the bidder intending to purchase one wheel of any of the chariots at the above price fixed will be given one Guja free of cost. One Prabha (if available) or Two Guja will be given free of cost for purchasing two nos of wheels.
The intending persons / institutions desirous of purchasing any of the wheels and or parts may also inspect the same in the Shree Gundicha Temple premises on any working day with prior intimation and quote the offered price (not lower than the upset price) in sealed cover along with an application in prescribed format quoting the serial number of wheels or parts he / she intends to take along with a Demand Draft amounting to Rs. 1,000./- (Rupees One thousand only) in favour of the Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri payable at Puri towards non-refundable application fee which will be taken as donation to the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri.
The sealed cover should be inscribed with “Bid of Chariot parts” and to be sent to the Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Office, Grand Road, Puri-752001 through Regd. Post or Courier service only and should reach the undersigned on or before 30.06.2016 and the same will be opened on the next working day at 11 AM in the presence of the applicant or their authorized representative. The successful bidder is required to deposit the bid amount with name, address and contact number within 7 days of acceptance of the bid.
The undersigned however, reserves the right to cancel any or all the offers without assigning any reason thereof. The pre-condition for sale of the wheels and parts are to facilitate the devotees to preserve the wheels / parts either for public view or for purpose of worship treating it as Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath. Misuse of the same in any manner hurting the religions sentiments may make the purchaser liable for legal action. The successful bidder has to furnish an undertaking to the above effect in the prescribed format enclosed herewith before the undersigned while taking delivery of the parts of the holy chariots. The responsibility of the Temple Administration shall cease as soon as the accepted offer is paid and the wheels / parts handed over for transportation at Shree Gundicha Temple, Puri.
