The mangaraashtakam of Subramanya Swamy is a set of eight hymns in praise of the deity presiding over the Temple of Lord Subramanyaswami in Swamimalai, near Kumbakonam. This mangalashtakam is learned and recited by families and is not publicized. It is supposed that reciting this hymn confers health, wealth and always auspicious events to the devotee or the practitioner.

॥ શ્રીસુબ્રહ્મણ્યમઙ્ગળાષ્ટકં ॥
શિવયોસૂનુજાયાસ્તુ શ્રિતમન્દાર શાખિને ।
શિખિવર્યાતુરંગાય સુબ્રહ્મણ્યાય મઙ્ગળં ॥
ભક્તાભીષ્ટપ્રદાયાસ્તુ ભવમોગ વિનાશિને ।
રાજરાજાદિવન્દ્યાય રણધીરાય મઙ્ગળં ॥
શૂરપદ્માદિ દૈતેય તમિસ્રકુલભાનવે ।
તારકાસુરકાલાય બાલકાયાસ્તુ મઙ્ગળં ॥
વલ્લીવદનરાજીવ મધુપાય મહાત્મને ।
ઉલ્લસન્મણિ કોટીર ભાસુરાયાસ્તુ મઙ્ગળં ॥
કન્દર્પકોટિલાવણ્યનિધયે કામદાયિને ।
કુલિશાયુધહસ્તાય કુમારાયાસ્તુ મઙ્ગળં ॥
મુક્તાહારલસત્ કુણ્ડ રાજયે મુક્તિદાયિને ।
દેવસેનાસમેતાય દૈવતાયાસ્તુ મઙ્ગળં ॥
કનકાંબરસંશોભિ કટયે કલિહારિણે ।
કમલાપતિ વન્દ્યાય કાર્તિકેયાય મઙ્ગળં ॥
શરકાનનજાતાય શૂરાય શુભદાયિને ।
શીતભાનુસમાસ્યાય શરણ્યાયાસ્તુ મઙ્ગળં ॥
મંગળાષ્ટકમેતન્યે મહાસેનસ્યમાનવાઃ ।
પઠન્તી પ્રત્યહં ભક્ત્યાપ્રાપ્નુયુસ્તેપરાં શ્રિયં ॥

રાજાધિરાજવેષાય રાજત્ કોમળપાણયે ।
