On Sunday evening the Ankurarpanam’ ritual was performed with religious fervor in Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
The Annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams, Ankurarpanam or the “sacred seed sowing Festival” was performed in Tirupati at 6.30 pm.
Nine varieties of holy seeds was sowen in the holy soil (Mrisangrahana). This ritual signifies the beginning of festival in the temple. This is followed by recital of vedic mantras.
Lord Govindaraja Swamy’s commander-in-chief Sri Vishwaksena Swamy was taken for a ride around the four mada streets in a grand procession. The divine1 warrior has invited all the deities to take part in the 9 days mega event.
