Srirangapatna is one of the Historical Famous Tourist center/places of Karnataka State which is situated in Mandya District, from Srirangapatna town about 2.5 km distance in the basin of Cauvery River at Ganjam village. The famous Sri Nimishambha Devi Temple existing was constructed as per the Agamoktha system, and idols were installed on the basis of Shivapanchayathan. Here Sri Nimishambhadevi, with Sreechakra Sri Moukthikeshwara Swamy and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy god`s idols of Surya Deva, Ganapathi, and Hanuman.

During the period of 1578 to 1617, this Srirangapatna becomes the capital city of Mysore, during that period, Raja Wodeyar of Mysore installed Sri Nimishambhadevi, and constructed this Temple Background of the formation of Sri Nimishambhadevi and specialty of Shreechakra.

As per the instructions of Sri Sri Parameshwara decided to conduct Poundareeka Yaga by Sumanaska for the benefit of the earth/world, as he gave the responsibilities of this Yaga to Mukthaka Rushi who is real Shiva. This matter came to the Knowledge of Sriman Narada by Janu and Sumandalas and they decided to abolish and give trouble to this Yaga and consulted with their Guru (Teacher) Shukracharya in this matter, The said Janu and Sumandalas sent their army along with their ministers namely Shoorabahu and Ghatodaras, Their army was abolished and broken by Mukthaka in a second of time, This matter heard by the said Janu and Sumandalas become angry and they prepared to conduct war along with Mukthaka Rushi personally and the battle going on strongly, In this said war Mukthaka defeated by them. All the weapons held by Mukthaka became no use and useless, The defeated person in the war Mukthaka prayed with the Parvathi, in a second of time the said Parvathi, came out from the Yagnakunda. The Janu and Sumandalas were able to get a blessing (Vara) from Brahma which is well known to the Parvathi they took this blessing from Brahma that their deaths did not happen with any weapons and Parvathidevi killed them on her sixth sense and observed for completion of the Yaga, with this the said Mukthaka Rushi became very happy and he used the word of O Jaganmathe, Nimishambha, due to this Nimishambha name came to Parvathidevi.

In front of the Idol of Shree Nimishambha Amma Bhooprastara, Krishnashila Sreechakra existing, In this Sreechakra very specialised Beejakshara, Moolamanthra wrote and which is a rare sree chakra in the whole world. This Sri Nimishambhadevi becomes famous for fulfilling the prayers of the devotees immediately.

This temple is Situated about 19 Kms distance from Mysore City and 128 km Distance from Bangalore City. Here the goddess removes the problems and troubles of devotees within a minute. That is why she is called Nimishamba. Sri Moukthikeshwara Swamy and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy idols of Lord Surya Bhagavan, Ganapathi and Hanuman are present on the premises.

Sri NimishambhaTemple was probably built during the 1610-38AD reign of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodiyar. It’s believed that Nimishambha will clear all problems and issues of devotees within minutes. That’s the reason it is called Nimishambha, because ‘Nimisha’ means minute.

Worshipping Nimishambha is believed to take away the hindrance in getting marriage proposals from those who have been waiting for years.

How to Reach Temple:

By Air:
Once arrived at Mysore airport, you can take a bus to reach this temple. The temple is 135 km from Mysore. Otherwise, you can drive from Srirangapatna. And the temple is only 2 km from the historic city.

By Rail:
You can go by train to Srirangapatna and from there you can go by auto or taxi.

By Road:
You can go by bus from Mysore to the temple directly. It is hardly 136 km.
