Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple is one of the most ancient temples located in the center of Tirupati. In 1130 AD Sri Vaishnavaite and Saint Ramanujacharya consecrated this ancient temple. The daily rituals in this temple are performed according to Vaikhanasa Agama.
The Tirupati Sri Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavams will commence from June 04 and ends on June 13. The Dhwajarohanam ceremony took place on June 05. The yellow cloth with Lord Garuda stamped, the Vahana of Sri Maha Vishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post `Dwajasthambham’ which is inside the temple complex amidst the traditional recitation of Vedic mantras by the ancient temple priests.
